Domain Name Sale
There is more to selling a domain name than just attempting to sell it
for for a hefty amount. The value of a domain name must be carefully
assessed and promoted to attract prospective buyers to get a handsome
price for the domain name. There are a number of domain appraisers
around, but the corresponding service fee may turn out to be costlier
than its market value.
A major factor to consider in raising the value of a domain name is
determining the quantity of voluntarily emailed bids to buy. This can be
done even if there has not been much effort yet to publicize the domain
name sale. Voluntary bids clearly indicate that some other people
obviously desire ownership of the domain name. The more unsolicited
offers there are, the better the possibility of raising the value of the
domain name.
A domain name may sound good but this does not mean it commands a good
price, too. Usually, shorter names get better value. But do take care
with shortcuts such as substituting numbers in place of letters or
omitting letters for the sake of shortening names. It is also important
to make sure that a domain name is correctly spelled. A misspelled
domain name would not have much chance in making a sale.
Moreover, hyphens are sometimes used for clarity, but too much does more
damage than good. Also, while domain names with extension endings like
.net might sound cooler than one that ends with a .com, the latter
extension fetches a higher price in the market of domain name sale.
